Asbestos Man - Asbestos Survey Software for producing online asbestos surveys / reports

The Asbestos Man asbestos survey software is hosted in a £100 million datacentre in the heart of London. All survey data is backed up every evening both locally and to a remote backup server in Scotland.

All information trasmitted between you and the datacentre is completely secure using the latest Cisco firewalls and hack-prevention technologies.

Because our asbestos survey software was built purely for use on the Internet, you can work from any Internet connected device on the planet ! Nor do you require any additional software on the computer from which you are connected. Asbestos Man even works on old browsers, for example Internet Exporer 4 !

We have also tested Asbestos Man on the latest Nokia E-Series and N-Series mobile phones and the results were excellent !

Ok, so how does it work ?

You logon through a secure web interface using a username and password. From here you can enter all of your survey data which you gather onsite. You can either enter the data while onsite using a PDA / client's computer or when you get back into the office.

While entering all of the survey data, you can add your own comments and pictures. The next step is to select from a drop down list the material / disturbance assesment details. You press one button and all Material Assessment Scores are automatically calculated.

The next step is testing. If you have your own analytical laboratories you can stay logged in and enter all of the analytical results. If you outsource your sample testing, you can give the analysing technician / company login details to the testing part of the database where they can enter all of the results online for you. This means the second the laboratory enters the results, both you and your client's can have access to the reports.

We already have 2 of the largest UK laboratories using our software so it may be worth checking to see if we already use your labs !

Once the report is complete, you can access the information and print out the report in an Adobe PDF format. You can also choose to allow your client's to access the same information in a read-only format. You can often charge your client's for this service.

If you left the default re-inspection period to 2 months, both you and your customer will receive auto-generated emails reminding your customer that a re-inspection is due. You can simply go into the original report and click 're-inspection' and a new report will be compile by copying the original building locations to save you time from having to enter the survey data a second time.

There are many additional points which are too detailed to explain in this context but the system has every feature to cover the smallest through to the largest asbestos surveying company.

About Us

Around 8 years ago, Appiam (our sister IT company) were approached and asked to develop an online asbestos surveying tool solely for the purpose of identification, management and control of asbestos. The project was planned to take 6 months but due to UKAS regulations and the new understanding of the system's possibilities, the project was extended to 2 years.

Ever since, Asbestos Man has been in constant development and still is ! This is to keep up with all the regulations and needs of the industry. For example we have recently added functionality to include CAR2006 specifications.

To date we have hundreds of customers who are using Asbestos Man including 3 UKAS accredited surveying / management firms.
